Free Things To Do In San Diego
San Diego is not a very expensive place to visit and if you manage your tour well, you will be able to do several things for free. Vacationing here is more like going on a nature trail where you keep discovering so much all by yourself as you go along! Here are some of the things you can do in San Diego that do not cost a penny.
Beach-time fun is free in San Diego! You could just move to any of the various beaches in San Diego here and surf, swim or just laze around. The sand is excellent here, so if you are the kind that enjoys building sandcastles, any of these beaches could be your artistic canvas!
If ancient history interests you – and San Diego has a lot of it – visit the Gaslamp Quarter. This is located in the downtown area of the city and has sixteen and a half blocks, enough to spend a good evening here. You will see that the entire place is full of architecture harking back to Victorian times. Shopping and art-watching are good here too. Another very interesting area to visit is the Old Town, where you can see various relics of the past.
One unique experience that San Diego offers you is kite flying. You could do that in the Tecolote Shores of the Mission Bay Park. The entire park is a wonderful aquatic area to visit. You may also want to take your family along to the La Jolla Cave (Cave of the Jewel), which gives you a wonderful view of the sunset. You could also go for some underwater sporting action in the water along this coast.
If you are driving, go over to the Mt. Laguna. It is a great place to have a little hike and take in the delights of nature. You could also visit the Mission Trails Regional Park which allows for some free trails within the forty acres of this great park.
