Halloween is right around the corner and whether you plan on juggling the kids or juggling the drinks, there’s a lot more action happening during October’s last night in San Diego than anyplace else.

Freaky Family Fun

Chances are even with the little ones in tow you can have a ball with local activities including SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular and Legoland California’s Brick or Treat. The family attractions aren’t happening just on Halloween, but throughout the month of October. SeaWorld’s family festivals include Saturday and Sunday shows with the center’s walrus, sea lion and other stars for a “Clyde and Seamore’s Trick or Treat” show, as well as a “Sesame Street’s Countdown to Halloween” musical for the younger ones.

Terror Tours

Love scary movies and haunted houses? You don’t have to look far to find some of the spookiest jaunts in the city. Scour through San Diego’s haunted history from Old Town and beyond on the Haunted San Diego Ghost Tours. Visitors take a trip through the William Heath Davis House Museum, Villa Montezuma and Old Town’s oldest cemetery, among others.

Of course, the classic haunting spot is the Whaley House, which will run through Halloween (beginning October 22) and features your worst nightmare – tours, mood lighting, music and more keep the mood going. Some of the scariest patrons come out on the 31st – so beware!

Want to scream? The Scream Zone is currently running and is the biggest event of the year with the House of Horror, Haunted Hayride and the Chamber with all kinds of haunting horrors.

Don’t have plans for the big night just yet? After you put together your costume, get your ghosts, goblins and more to the Monster Bash in the Gaslamp Quarter beginning at 6 p.m.
